The Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), Engineer Bolanle Ayodele has re-assured residents of the company's host community that engineers are working day and night to stop gas flaring in the area.

Speaking while commissioning a solar-powered borehole in Mahuta for residents of Janruwa and Kamazo, the KRPC boss said, "Our engineers are working on daily basis to ensure that they stop the gas flaring."
He added: "We hope to stop it very soon so that we all have good air to breath. We're also going to commission a filing station that will be providing kerosene to our host communities at a cheaper rate. This will help bring an end to bush burning in the area."
Engr. Ayodele, who was represented by the Executive Director, Services, Alhaji Idi Muktar said that the borehole has capacity to store 20,000 litres of water.
According to him, Kamazo residents had spent years without electricity in their homes until KRPC came to their aid adding that the borehole cost N6.3 million while the electricity line cost N5.6 million.
